The system of ensuring the rights of detainees has been implemented by the National Police of Ukraine with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation, the Ukrainian Legal Aid Foundation and the Expert Center for Human Rights in temporary detention facilities since 2017 and district offices of the National Police of Ukraine since 2020. The system of ensuring the rights of detainees is a combination of electronic documentation, round-the-clock video surveillance, implementation of policies, procedures and introduction of positions of persons responsible for human rights protection in the structural units of the national police - human rights inspectors. The system of ensuring the rights of detainees guarantees the protection of the rights of every citizen, both detainees and employees of the National Police.
